Ah, y de paso es como verlo mas de lejos, poruqe ver el de tincho te hace notar que si se puede tener el auto mejor que 0 y es frustrante, jajaja
me fui!
Well today I had the pleasure of detailing a friends car. Not a fancy car but something to really put my skills to the test. My friend Sat came over in his 1985 Audi 80 CL, initially i though from a distance it didnt look too bad and wasnt going to be too bad to polish, until i found out the truth......ill tell most through out the pics.
How the car turned up:
So I started with the arches, used Surfex APC to soak inside the arches and then used a brush to scub, then used the dirt blaster to remove all the dirt.
Then moved onto the alloys and used Bilberry Wheel cleaner, with detailing brush for the outside and a long reach brush for inside the wheels
Then I moved onto the body, initially I rinsed the car down, then I snowfoamed the car, left for 5 mins, rinsed again then washed (two bucket methos of course), then rinsed again. then clayed the car, again rinsed then washed again and rinsed again. The door hinges were done using Surfex APC and a detailing brush. The car was dried the car used a Dodo Juice Waffle.
At this stage was the real horror. I then found out the car had been coated in Red Coloured Turtle Wax a few times and after drying the car, it turned out to be PINK ! There was soo much oxidation on the car I knew this wasnt going to be as easy as I thought it found be.....
So I masked off all the trim, Chrome, Lights etc.....
So initially I used Sonus SFX 1 on an SFX 1 pad, it wasnt anywhere near to how i hope it would be at removing the oxidisation or swirls, so then I moved to the Mernz Power Finish on a Sonus SFX 3 pad, still not perfect, so resulted in using the Mernz Power Gloss on the SFX 3 pad which had fantastic results
50/50 shot
Followed up using Merz Power Finish on the SFX 3 pad then a Coat of Zaino Z2 then over with Zaino Z6 which producted fantastic results. I finished this of using Dodo Juice Supernatural and both I and the ower were extremely please with the results
Then it was time to attack the chrome fittings and the trim. For this I used the Brilliant Metal Restorer (the one Badly Dubbed mentioned before in a thread) and used Chemical Guys New Look Trim Gel. Again very happy with the results
For the interior, it was hoover and all the interior trim was wiped down with Surfex APC. All the glass cleaned with AG Fast Glass (inside and out).
Then the attention was turned to the engine bay. Used Surfex APC on as much as possble under the hood, loosened with a brush and then dirt blasted away and then dried with a Microfibre towel
Once done I then worked on the alloy wheels. I polished them using Chemical Guys Wheel Guard, then Jet Seal 109 and finished using an amazing Berry Scented Wax David at CarWashnWax recommended (Cant remember what its called). The tyres were done using the Chemical Guys New Look Trim Gel.
This is the finished product, sorry the pics are not amazing as using a camera phone
